I recently acquired a Schneider Symmar 210mm lens for my Graflex Crown Graphic I bought a few months ago.
This is the lens I am talking about: https://www.keh.com/256611/210-f5-6-symmar-s-mc-copal-bt-42-mt-4x5-lens

After getting the corresponding lensboard for the Copal 1 Shutter, I mounted the lens but I was quite surprised that the focus is very offset.
I can't focus closer than to 5m distance, thats at max bellows extension.

Is there something I am missing as I am very new to 4x5 photography.

Thank you all for your help.

Hi:

First:

Here's a copy of the manual for the PacemakerSpeed and Crown Graphic.

http://www.cameramanuals.org/prof_pdf/graphic_pacemaster_speed_crown.pdf

This manual has all sorts of good information on the use of Speed and Crown Graphic cameras.

Second:

Have a look on the focussing rail where the upright for the lens slides. There are a couple of infinity stops on the rail which are adjusted so that the front standard and lens mount to the camera can be pulled out to an accurate position to focus the lens at infinity. An educated guess is that these stops are adjusted for a 127 or 135 mm standard lens and won't allow the standard to pull out far enough to focus a 210mm at infinity. You can fold those stops down which will allow you to pull the standard out further to get infinity with the 210 lens. I'm assuming that you will be using the ground glass to focus. The rangefinder can be adjusted for the 210 lens but that is a whole different question.
