I was scanning 35mm negs from my trip to NY in 2007 and found out this one...
Who knows, maybe he is this forum member..

Good thing he had a weird metal robot next to him for protection. What is that thing?

I need one of those...

It was kind of cool looking though!

It looks like he had a film holder inserted, and waited for the right moment for the exposure. Interesting point of view. In 2008 I spent time photographing at ground level in SoHo, but not with a LF camera.

How shocking, the phones are in tact...that doesn't mean they were working :>).

I think NYC still has working Pay Phones, unlike Chicago which has almost none.

NYC has what looks to be a great plan to use the locations for WIFI, a good idea, it would seem.

We almost had citywide WIFI in Chicago, but no. Are payoffs political or just crime?

Looks like some version of Linhof Technika, look closely, you can see the silver latch that keeps the lensboard on. He is also using a large square lens shade, and it looks like he's got a neck strap on the camera.

Did you talk to him? LF film guys need to stick together!

He's living on the edge, literally, great exposures here.

Nope, he was busy enough and I was in hurry :-(

I'm pretty sure they all were there in 2011, last time I was in NY

I'm not an expert, but I think it's Linhof too. Here is a 100% crop, but don't forget - it is tiny format thread..
