If I want one of these that will have significantly more coverage than a 180 Symmar-S, am I looking for a single coated, inside lettering lens? Or is there a suffix that matters too? thanks.

Agreed. I understand it will cover 8x10, with little room for movement. I have one and it covers 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 with excess with room to move.

So a "W" lens single coated inside lettering is it?

Yes.
This has an IC of 308mm, barely enough for 8x10.
Small and compact, too.

Also note that there are 2 versions of this lens, the one in a Copal shutter (W) and the one in the Seiko shutter (WS).

No difference in performance, though.

Got a clean example of this lens and I'm very impressed with it. Thanks for your help.
