Dear fellows,
Occasionally got a box of this film.
However, why such a strange size: 14x20?
Never heard a 14x20 camera.

Lucky, or poor?

As stated above, I shoot 14x20. Due to cost, I use Xray film mainly. I cut down 14x36 sheets. Ilford has FP4 in that size and now Fuji. Cool! It is nice to know I can get some sheets of precut panchromatic film. Hope they are available when I have some funds!

I want! I want! Can we get an order in 14x17? What is their minimum order size I wonder?

Hard to know when it was cut w/o seeing the exp date but since I've never heard of fuji doing custom order sheet film (or custom order anything) and we've had discussions about making attempts here in the past. Fuji doesn't care to deal with this kind of thing at least here in the states. That said, just a few years ago Badger Graphic acquired 11x14 provia for what I thought was a very reasonable price. Jeff at badger would be the guy to contact but you'd need to get enough interest for one size, not ten different sizes.

Special order.
Stone is going to go apeshit.

Saw this earlier on Facebook, yea I had heard that fuji stopped cutting special orders etc, then again I also heard they stopped making Velvia50 in 8x10 and stopped cutting Acros100 in 8x10 years ago and that's clearly not true either as I'm getting both fresh and in date.

It is an odd size though.

Yes, it's really odd.
I made a big mistake when I bought the film.
I was so excited and carelessly ignored the size although I checked the expired date.
I always believed it's a 16x20.
I suddenly found it's 14x20 on the way back home.

Where did you buy it?

Cut it to 14x17? Use the extra strip of 3x14 for some kind of nifty pano shot? Lol!

I bought it in Shanghai.
I am thinking about how to use such strange size negatives.

Sell it to some one with a 14x17 or cut it down to 7x17 (x2) or 8x20?

Kenro Izu custom orders his film for 14x20. He uses Acros now. I doubt this was his film since he is still shooting. He used to use Plus-X.

I used to think to cut it into 8x20 because I believed it's 16x20.
Now I am considering how to put it into 16x20 plate holder.

Yes, the negatives were mostly for him.
Mr. Kenro is the only one use 14x20 beside of few DIYed guys.
I also believed he was the only one to effect Fujifilm to cut 14x20 Acros for him.

After researching him and looking at his images, I'm very impressed, and I can see why he appreciates that particular perspective of 14x20, it's a really great size and ratio.

Im not good on comparing ratios but it's sort of like 5x7 I think?

Really cool.

Doing "the math", both 14x20 and 5x7 are approx 1:1.4 in ratio, so yes, they're close in format.

However, most 5x7 cameras are much more portable than a 14x20 ;)

Haha, very true ;)

And thanks for doing the ratio math for me, I'm sure there's some easy math algorithm for it I'm just too brain dead. lol.

Yep. Mr. Kenro loved the 5x7 format. He needed manual printing for big size. So he choose 14x20.

Less lens choices in that size however, as proof in a lot of his images with the corner falloff, but I like it, adds something.

Simple:
Divide your long side into your short side
for instance 7/5=1.4 , 20/14=1.428

close enough for most people's tastes :)
