I have a quick question: Which Durst 4x5 glass carrier fits the CE 1000. Thanks!

None? BTW, Laborator Pro 1000 is the same enlarger.

None, easy to remedy, I made my own, 2 pieces of decent glass cut to Camneg size with an extra 50mm width to facilitate handling, a piece of thin card or plastic with a 5x4 aperture cut centrally then taped (double sided tape or glue) underneath the bottom piece to facilitate positioning of neg, sand edges of glass smooth or tape for safety, care needs to be taken when lowering head onto glass, worked fine.

Thanks for the instructions. I've already done something similar but with one 2 mm piece of glass only. Do you get any Newton rings with the plain glass?

I have not had any problems with Newtons rings on any of my enlargers using glass carriers in my current darkroom which is not at all damp, I have a can of Tetenal anti newton spray just in case, I have never needed it, a good source of glass plate is old flatbed scanners of which there are plenty around, good glass but difficult to cut, I only have an old wheel glass cutter so I get my local double glazing supplier to cut to size.

Newton ring issues are related not only to climate/humidity/dampness but also to what specific films you use. Some are much slicker than others, and therefore
far more prone to this kind of problem. Here in the US you can get any size of AN glass you need from Focal Point.
