Fotoman: one lens cone for different 75mm

Hi guys,
Fotoman 617: Is it possible to use a 75mm cone for different lenses like Fuji 75mm or nikkor 75mm or rodenstock 75mm.

If yes I could change between lenses.

It depends. The flange-to-film specification (i.e., how far the lens needs to be mounted from the film to attain infinity focus) varies for different 75mm lenses. If the cone is shorter than the specification for a given lens, it might require a shim for proper calibration. If the cone is too long, it would have to be shaved down to allow infinity focus.

Typically the cone is adjusted in the "factory" prior to shipment based on the specific lens intended to be used. Each lens may have slightly dif specs which are accounted for in the cone adjustment.
With that said, the cones offer a small amount of leeway to get them adjusted for proper focuse at infinity.
Once you get a lens set on a cone, you generally don't want to be removing them on a regular basis. Too much hassle.

Contact Fotoman & ask them if the other lenses will also work.

I have a couple duplicate focal lengths, some lenses set on the cones as well as the same focal lengths on lens boards for my view cameras.

Late-model 75/5.6 Super Angulons have a FFD spec of 84.8mm, the 75/6.8 Grandagon-N is 79mm and the 75/4.5 Grandagon-N is 82mm.

I have read that the early model has a flange to film distance of 82.4mm. Is this right..?!?!

I doubt it. What kind of shutter is it in? Is it multicoated? Notice that the 84.8 mm spec on the linked Schneider vintage lens data page is for the MC version.

Yes you are right. There is nothing with "MC" or "Multicoating" on the lens. This could indicate my lens is an older one..
