It is a little difficult to say without have checked in the ground glass and on the film the results!
Both lenses have a soft focus device and they are heavy and difficult to mount on cameras, if you don't have a real portrait camera that means a studio camera.
My experience is with Cooke and the results are really wonderful. You have the opportunity to choose your softness and then "correct" it with the apertures...the same with the Universal Heliar but I had it for a short time, not enough to appreciate it. There are others interesting portraits lenses. I have some of the cited and others to sell. Send me an email if you are interesting and will give you more informations.
