I am building an 8x10 camera and using my 4x5 Ikeda Anba as a model. I can just scale up the Ikeda, but it would be good if I can confirm that will work. Unfortunately, Ikeda didn't make an 8x10, but I understand the Nagaoka is very similar in design, and it would be very useful for me if someone who has one could post a side view digi-snap of theirs so I could confirm my scaling is approximately correct in reality.

Ikeda did make a few 8x10 cameras. My close friend has one.

That''s great Jim. I didn't know that. Are you able to send me a snap of the side view of said camera? Or get me in touch with the owner?

Try searching ebay for completed listings, a picture is what you want?

Thanks David, but I did try searching completed listings and found one but the camera was folded up and the photo not really usable. What I need is just a side view I can show on the computer and then scale. For example, the width of the bellows box on the 4x5 is 7/8 inch, and I want to determine if I should just scale that up to 8x10, or if the actual size can be less. Also, I'm curious about an approximate count of teeth per inch on the focusing racks, to determine if they used the same rack as the 4x5 or scaled that up for the 8x10.

Well David, I take that back. I did a search on Ebay (rather than Google) and found one for sale in Italy. It has better pictures than the other one I found, but now a member has emailed with an offer to photo his, so I am set. For anyone interested there is also another one listed right now as a Tachihara 4x5. It is actually a Nagaoka 8x10 with a Tachihara 4x5 reduction back. Currently $600, and ends in four hours... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tachihara-Wood-Field-Camera-with-Fujinar-W-150-5-6-Lens-for-4-5-Large-Format/231426355371?_trksid=p2047675.c100013.m1986&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131223091518%26meid%3D5adc7179e1164309a34474a94615b159%26pid%3D100013%26prg%3D20131223091518%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D30%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D321604261448

It would seem that he's calling it a 4x5 because it has a 4x5 back. But clearly an 8x10 camera.
