Has anyone done any photography or just traveled through the High Plains, in Colorado, for instance, with photography in mind? Are there any impressions on that region?
Thanks,
Harry

Wonderful photography by Paula Chamlee of her elderly parents farm in Texas, where she was born and raised.

When I think of the High Plains of Colorado I think of Robert Adams. This is not a very targeted search but you can get the idea from the first twenty or so. Many of his books contain work from the high plains.

Perhaps look into the work of Eric Paddock, of Denver---a Yale guy, who was the head at the Colorado St Historical Society Photo Dept and is now head of the DAM, photo dept.

Kirk--my pleasure---Paddock is well known in the Denver area photo fine art scene--he has been a juror in many shows, is or was a member of the CPAC and is well respected. He may not work in LF, if so, its limited.

One of these days, I'm heading down into SF and had planned to introduce myself to you--so until then--Hopla!!!

I had heard his name before but thought of him as a curator. Interesting. Are you in Denver? I'm up there 4-6 times a years visiting kids and grandkids.

I just logged into this forum for the first time in who knows how long and happened to see this current thread. Not sure Harry is even checking replies given his lack of response, so I'll keep it short. For an out-of-stater, I'm not sure what the draw might be to our plains over our mountainous area, but if there is any interest, the states closer to you would offer the same results. The weather would be nicer here during the summer given the the lack of humidity, though, if that is of any concern. Otherwise, June, July, and into August is our stormy season, so that would be the optimal time frame for a visit. One from my collection since I had it handy:

Jim Sidinger in Denver has done, and continues to do, a lot of work in the high plains of Colorado. He is an active member of this forum.
