Hi,

I've just published very simple app on Google Play which helps you to visualize how the scene will look using orthochromatic film.
You can enable/disable RGB color components to see how values will change with green or blue sensitive films.
This is only very simple way of doing such preview, because it only allows to disable RGB components, but if you are shooting green sensitive x-ray film or blue sensitive films you may find it useful.
App is free, without ads. I've wrote it for myself, but maybe someone else will find it useful.

Downloaded it. Cool. Too bad it's not a camera--I'd use it instead of the stock one.

Well, adding shutter button is easy, but it involves some design decisions: image ratio choosing, focusing, exposure etc.
But I when I'll have some spare time for bigger project I think I could add some features.
I think light meter will be good to have too. It doesn't have to be extremely accurate since you can develop ortho films by inspection.

Nice app! Is there a possibility of adding an infrared feature? I am not sure what kind of filtering cell cameras use. Thanks!

Unfortunately, as far I know there is no android phone with IR sensitive camera. I can only work on RGB image.
If you have IR filter which cuts visible light you can try to put this in front of you phone, enable Red component and check if it will show anything.

Hi,

I've published v. 1.1.

- added light meter function
- added touch on preview to set exposure area
- added portrait layout
- app now saves current state on exit

Light meter function works quite good on my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. Shutter speed it shows are very close to showed by my digital camera. Of course it's only as good as phone camera metering but combined with option to set exposure area with touching it seems to be good enough for ortho films when you develop by inspection.

Well done. Just installed it on my Galaxy S4 and works like a charm. What does the thing with the red light in it do?

This thing is a light meter :) Set the aperture, ISO and you are ready to use it. You can zoom to measure smaller part of the scene. It calculates the exposure for displayed frame.
