I have a Dallmeyer 15x12 RR lens designed obviously to cover 15x12 inches at landscape. wondering if anyone has tried this lens on 14x17. I have a voigtlander portrait euryscop 500mm f4.5 that will easily cover but it weighs a ton and is better suited to my 11x14 ansco studio camera. Just wondering If anyone had ever tried to push the coverage on this lens as I wan't to possibly give it a shot on a 14x17 field camera shooting landscapes and a few longer distance portraits.
Thanks. Brandon

Hi Brandon

Stopped well down, 17" wont be an issue to cover. Dallmeyer advertised, "each lens, with smaller stops can be used for the next size larger plate" 1904

The next sized RR lens was 18x16

Oh yes Dan thanks I have several of your web site pages on my booksmark bar. Including the Dallmeyer 1904 catalogue, and i realize it will probably work stopped down to f16 or so. I made f11 and f16 waterhouse stops for the lens. I should be more clear. I was wondering if anyone had tried shooting this lens wide open f8 at 14"x17" The reason I was asking is it seems the voigtlander euryscop lenses seem to be known for greater coverage than their advertised specifications. I was hoping to see if someone had similar results with Dallmeyer RR's I am having a hard time finding an 18x16 Dallmeyer or something similar so I thought I would see if any other photographers here had tried as I am hoping to shoot 14x17 wet plates next spring. Thanks again Dan. Brandon

The mystery deletion was probably info about the "Benchmark" Dallmeyer 25x21" RR - the longest listed in calalogues, 33".

Listing is now completed - 111476598517.

Actually you are correct Steven except it was a previous 25x21 Dallmeyer that was not quite as nice as the one you referred to. 131299124623 Too much lens for me. Pretty rare Two 25x21 Dallmeyers listed in the same few weeks.

Yes Alex. I have to have the Camera made. And buy a lot of silver. Early 2015 probably. Thanks to you and Peter for helping me find this Beautiful 19th century work of art.
