Hi Guys,

Just received a Schneider Symmar 150 5.6 W/ Synchro Compur (Convertible) and noticed that there are some marks on the rear element of the lens.

I've detached it and photographed it on the attached photograph so you can help me identify what they might be. They don't seem to be on the glass itself, maybe just on the metal the element is mounted on?

Thanks

James

I don't own any Schneider lenses, but I've read and seen enough postings here to say that the flat black coating
on the metal element is flaking off, search for - Schneideritis

If it is on the barrel interior it is schneideritis which is harmless.

Yeah it seems to be on the interior. Ha, I take it this is common with older Schneiders!

Thanks for the quick replies.

It's cousin is common on older Fujinons too. It's called Fuji-itis.
