I have run into a slight issue, and not sure what the deal is.
I know this has come several times in the past, but i have not yet seen this issue addressed.

I have 2 sliver ring copal #3 shutters. One is older, with a jagged ring and numbering on the face of the shutter, the other is a newer silver ring shutter, with the numbering on the outside wall of the shutter.

The lenses in those two shutters are both intercangeable, while the lenses form black ring copal #3 shutters are bigger, and do not fit either of the sliver ring shutters.

Are the sliver ring #3 shutters actually 3S size shutters, even though they are both clearly marked as #3, not #3s?

Did the sized change over time?

There were a lot of Copal 3S shutter just marked as Copal 3. I think older Fujinon lenses were often mounted in these shutters.

It would look like there are Copal #3/3S sizes that take 60, 61 or 62mm retaining rings: http://www.skgrimes.com/products/mounting-flanges/metric-stock-flanges

See this thread (http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?31828-Copal-3-shutters-two-sizes).

The three shutters in the picture I posted all conform to the Copal 3S specs.
