Hello. Recently I buy a Howtek 4500 Scanner. When it powers up, the control panel of the scanner shows Ready To Scan. But after the scanner was sent to my hometown, it's plastic cover was broken and after power up, the control panel shows as fellows :

Scanner Restart

201 ( BS ->bc1b s

I press the button on the control panel randomly, but no replies. Would someone please tell me what's wrong with my scanner? And how can I fix it?

Thanks a lot.

The most active group of Howtek users I know of is the Yahoo ScanHi-End group (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ScanHi-End/info). Join that group and ask there.

Also, you could try Aztek support (http://aztek.com/Drum%20Scanner%20Support.html). Aztek still repairs, maintains, and supplies parts for the various Howtek scanners.

I would open the covers and look for loose cables. Maybe pull / plug each one in.
Also pull / reseat each circuit board.

Good Luck.
