I've noticed these two marks and have tried cleaning using a cloth but they are not on the surface of the picture.

Any ideas?

Looks like little bits of detritus floating around in the air has settled on the glass of your scanner. Generally, when "marks" are sharp it means they are right close to the image. I make a point to wash my working area down with anti-static solution before i start a scanning run. You don't want to fog the glass, of course, but these kinds of marks are quite quite. Just grab a spotting tool in PhotoShop and be done with it...

I emailed where I bought them from, these are on the original.

What does this mean exactly?

I mean they are minute but still... I wanted to know what they are.

The curvy white marks look like they are from dust/lint, whereas the reddish dot surrounded by white looks like a piece of crud stuck to the film (or plate) during the printing or lithography process. Obviously nothing you can do about them, unless you want to retouch them out on the prints. Are these photographic prints, or lithographs of photos?
