5x8s are great little cameras, and cheap because of no film for that size. Great for wetplaters. I have a Rochester 5x8 that I can put a stereo lens set onto. Yours doesn't look like it has the septum for stereo, but I can't see the rear very well.

Scotvill 5x8 is not a new format to me, although each of cameras I have has its own application. I have the Chamonix 5x8 for film. This one and the other one here are for plates.

Sweet:)
Was "Scotvill" a subsidiary of The Scovill Mfg. Co.? Or we're they an independent manufacturer? ;)

Tri, that is a beauty. I know the others are as well!!
Very nice camera kit.
Your example encourages me to branch out from standard modern format.

I have one that leaks light horribly so the inside is a mess of tape and glued wood strips. But its simplicity and weight are wonderful. Who made your wet plate back?
