Do you think a bail can be added to a Deardorff V8 back?
If yes, then by whom?

Thank you,
j

Your best bet would be Richard Ritter, if anyone can do it he can.

what's a bail?

A arm that, when initiated, lifts/leavers the ground glass section of the camera back to make inserting the film holder a whole lot easier, as well as reducing the likelihood of knocking the settings of the camera.

I have a Sinar back adapted by myself for use on my Deardorff. It was a temporary solution until I was able to find an original back, which I now have. I really like the bail and solid feel but the weight was the penalty.

No problem.

Thank you again, Richard.

I have not responded further because a photographer down the road has expressed an interest in buying the Deardorff 'as is', entirely original.

Bails are mostly alike, such as this one: http://glennview.com/jpgs/sinar/p/810/backs/midvintage/big_2.jpg
