Found a place to do it.
The small brass lens hood is Dallmeyer 3B's.

Wouldn't it be much much lighter, easier to make and more in the good Chinese tradition to make it out of paper? I mean, you have now a casserole on your lens. :)

Paper is lighter, but not stable enough.
I need the lens cover to handle the exposure time.
Yes, I had been inspired with a casserole on a small lens. 116314
The bottom is with a machined screw.
But my lens diameter is too big. A screw for it must be very expensive.
I may consider to use brass plate to make the hood next time.

I might put a bottom onto my hood in the future if I won't use the lens any more.
Then I will have a casserole.

Nice job! Many older Petzvals had a heavy brass lens cover, like this.

Our only chance is to take some photos and a set of drawings on our next visit to a Medina/Souk in Morocco or India etc. There are always metal workers at the end of the alley - usually at the right side of the main entrance! They know brass very well. The days of tin/copper/brass smiths in Europe have long since gone.

Tinsmith and silver smith can be found in Iran.
