Anyone have any experiences with using an Epson maintenance chip resetter? If so, where did you get yours? I have one, but I think it's a bum resetter, so I'd like a reliable source. Also, can you reset the chip at any point? I've heard that some resetters won't let you reset when the tank is past 15% capacity.

Much appreciated!

I have a chip resetter for the 4000. I use it to reset the refillable cartridges as well as the maintenance tank. Never had a problem with it. I got mine here in Canada at inkowl dot com.

Sorry, I only have experience with resetters for the 9800, 9600 (same as 7600 and 4000) and for the 3800.

I use resetters all the time and have in a variety of Epson models. I've gotten them from a variety of sources, but mostly inkjetmall. Your 7900 will require a resetter specifically for x900 model maintenance tanks, not only will it not work for other models, whether tanks or carts, it will not even work for the ink carts in the x900s...
They've all worked fine for me, you need to replace the batteries once in a while.
You can reset the tank at any time.
Yours may simply need new batteries. Sometimes you can short them out, this requires taking batteries out and back in. Much info on all this on the inkjetmall site.

There's a really good forum that is dedicated to inkjets and other printing stuff:

I use one from MIS for my 7600 and 4880. It works fine.
