How do you get it fixed (via Schneider)?
How long does it take?
Is it covered under warranty?
Does it matter that if you are the original owner or if you got it used?

It depends. Schneider I believe honors the warranty up to a certain serial number—which one I'm not sure. I had this issue and Bob Watkins of Precision Camera Works took care of it for me at a reasonable cost in a few days.
