I have this case, but do not know what camera it was made for. Maybe Norma. If yes, does not hold X or P2? The P2 is inside, but does not seat well.

I believe that is a Norma case. I have an F case and it is much different than your case.

I have the same case to fit P 4x5 system.

My Norma case is totally different. my case is for the 4x5 model and is taller and narrower. The (part) assembled camera hangs upside down in the case.

I'm pretty certain that RedSun's case is the one for the 8x10 Norma. The standards lie flat in the bottom part (on a six inch rail?).

The 4x5 and 5x7 cases are taller and less suitcase like.

Redsun: give us a closeup of the diagram on the inside of the lid. That'll clinch it.

Sorry about the double post, computer glitch.

The Norma is wider and shorter than the F-P series so usually the dedicated cases require modification or simply are the wrong size.

I think your case held an 8x10 Norma kit with the camera on its back using a short rail.

The outside dimension is 24" L x 14" W x 12" H. I'll take more pictures when I get chance. The P2 fits, but does not fit well....

Here is someone's 8x10 Norma Expert case. But the inside still looks different from mine.

It says 9x12 - 13x18. intern. reg. des......

The camera looks like the old P, all chrome trims.

You answered your question yourself, the case is one of the first for the Sinar P and could be used to carry the 4x5 or 5x7 version

I agree. It's a carry-over case from the Norma era before the swap to the shiny-Al cases they used later on.

Will your camera fit better if you adjust the shift on each standard so that it lies flat with the rail in the rail holder? If not, modern Sinar cases are not too expensive on the used market, even here in $weden.

FWIW, I crack up every time I see that diagram of the man carrying the case like a rucksack. Must have been designed by a secret cabal of orthopedic surgeons trying to drum up business.

I think you are right. Sinar reconfigured the inside from holding a Norma 8x10 to a 4x5/5x7 P. There is a Seller on Ebay right now selling a P with original instructions and what he claims to be the original case and the case looks just like this one.
