Hi all. I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me identify this lovely little camera I recently acquired. Any information at all would be appreciated.

The rear standard and camera bed both measure 6 3/4 " square and the bed has a large circular cut out of it. The lens board measures 3 5/8 " square with the inner square on the rear measuring 3x3. The front standard has rise/fall, tilt, and can manage a small amount of swing. The rear has tilt/swing.

In terms of identifying marks, the only thing I can find on the camera is what appears to be a "0" carved on the inside of the camera bed, at the center of the rear edge -- right below the ground glass when the camera is open (see fuzzy picture with light circle drawn around it).

That's about all the info I've got aside from the pictures atm so hopefully it's enough. One other thing I noticed was that all the metal pieces on the camera appear to be of the same material except for the two pieces on the side/corner of the bed and rear standard, which appear to be brass (see last picture for better closeup).

Thanks in advance for the help.

err, just realized that the 0 mark may just be the film plane marker...hrmph

Edit: is it a Nagaoka?

Looks like an early Nagaoka to me.

I sure like it's design better than my last 4x5 wood camera.

A 4x5 Tachihara (Calumet Woodfield XM) Field Camera (http://www.ebay.com/itm/4x5-Tachihara-Calumet-Woodfield-XM-Field-Camera-/301182775455?pt=Film_Cameras&hash=item461fe4709f), I suspect.

I saw that one as well Dann, but in the Q&A section they clarify that it's more likely a Nagaoka, which is what led me to my earlier edit. Also, it's hard to tell because of the lighting but mine seems like it might be made of a different type of wood.

It's a Nagaoka, no doubt about that. The Calumet Woodfield (not XM) was just a rebadged Nagaoka that was identical in every way that I could ever see.

The Calumet Woodfield XM was a rebadged Tachihara, as were the first generation Zone VI, first generation Wista and the Osaka.

I have a 4x5 camera that's virtually identical to this one, except that it has Graflok sliders and takes Technika boards. Mine was sold to me as a Nagaoka, but it has no identifiers of any kind on it, so it may well have been sold originally by some other vendor.

This one is definitely not a Tachihara or Calumet XM.
