This Saturday, May 3rd, is the 6th annual World Wetplate Day. We started this as a day for photographers around the world to post and publish (a book was made with the first year's images) their two best plates, all taken on the same day. The book profits the first year went to buy a new memorial in London to the inventer, Frederick Scott Archer. That memorial was installed the next year, where the dilapidated headstone was. http://britishphotohistory.ning.com/profiles/blogs/frederick-scott-archer

Here is the website with info, a past years galleries: http://www.wetplateday.org/

On Saturday, shoot em if you got em!

I'm up for anything. Supposed to be warm and sunny here in Tucson on sat, surprise! What does Garrett have to say?

Seattle anyone? If you are shooting and are willing to show me or provide instructions in exchange for helper duties, I'd be interested. Shoot me a PM.

When I wash my dishes on the 3rd, I'll think of you wet-platers!

We are having a WP gathering at my home here in SoCal. So far 5 confirmed. We'll also have a couple of models for portrait shots. Let me know if anyone else might be interested in joining in. :)

Happy WWPD to you all wet heads out there. Nothing like the smell of ether in the morning!

For the record, WWPD does not stand for "World Wet Plate Day". It stands for "What Would Pixies Do?" :)
