Can't activate FlexColor colour noise filter tool, please help

I'm going through my scanned negatives and try to adjust 3f files with FlexColor. I've never used the program before and I find it extremely annoying. I'm unable to activate the colour filter tool in texture window. The DAC tabs appear also grey and I can't select them, but Unsharp Mask and Flex Touch tools are active. Does anyone know what could be the problem? The dark parts of every image have a lot of colour noise and the images seem too sharp.

I have the same thing with an imacon 949 looks like a change needs to be made in the setup / edit preferences department.113730

did you solve that problem? I have the same now and don't find a way to activate the color noise filter.
