Before I bother them with a bunch of stupid questions has anybody dealt with them? How do they ship?

In the past three months I purchased a Fuji 300mm and 450mm for my 8x10. I worked with Jim in the LF department. The sale went without a hitch... I think the items were just mailed up, but I did have to pay the duty and taxes. You can have items shipped other ways, but postal is the cheapest. You only have to pay a $5 broker fee. Other shipping methods have much higher fees.

Hi Nick,

I've ordered to Vancouver from Mpex a number of times and I've had no problems at all. They have shipped UPS ground, as well as US Postal Service (when I requested so). You should have no problems with them as they are great to deal with.

I bought many of my 4x5 pieces from them (including my Wista and Wisner, both used and in perfect shape), and would highly recomend them. A good bunch, and very good gear, if my 6-8 transactions are any indication. I'd recomend them.

Eric,

I've also dealt with MidWest Photo through a lady by the name of Cassie... and I've spoken with Jim on a number of issues related to a Linhof Master Technika 4x5.

They're great to deal with and very, very knowledgeable about all sorts of gear.

I wouldn't hesitate recommending them...

Good luck

Cheers

I ordered a 4x5 Tachihara from them a few months ago. I dealt with Jim who was very helpfull. He said he ships a lot of stuff to Canada. I had the order shipped by express mail and had to pay PST/GST plus a $5.00 brokers fee. The package was actually delivered to a local Purolator office from the border at no additional cost as part of the express mail system. Highly recommended.

Bought a Wisner PE and Rodenstock 150mm from them earlier this year. Equipment as described and great service, willing to talk about price. Only complaint is that they didn't ship until a couple of days after the purchase. No big deal though.

Highly recommended.

I've had best luck when shipped by US priority mail. Under a certain amount you don't have to pay any taxes for used things. And so they have to say used on the package. And check with Canadia Post to make sure of this. I've heard that UPS is the worst because they always charge a brokerage fee on each package. Good luck.
