Linhof Super Technika V
Just curious, no real need to know because the three camera matched
lenses for my Super Technika V were already installed and working well
with the rangefinder.
In the Linhof Super Technika instructions for installing a matched cam
and lens, infinity stops and distance scale, it says to use the
supplied rangefinder target at 15 feet, even to set the infinity stops,
emphasizing that to assure RF accuracy at distances closer than six-feet
the infinity stop check should be repeated until absolutely correct. Does
this imply that 15 feet and beyond need not be so precise?
The setting includes using the ground glass for affirmation.
I am puzzled and ignorant. Why 15 feet? Why not infinity using the
typical mile-away object? And why so simple compared to other LF RF
adjustments?
If necessary I can post a link to a PDF of the instructions.
