OK, so maybe not "universal" but we're getting closer.

I was looking at it this morning. It would be cool with a magnifying glass lens or such on a view camera. :o

Quite the contrary - it would be completely useless with a lens or a magnifying glass as it is not designed to hold neither of them.

Dear Hoffner,

This IS the diy forum.

My interest in this is more for the fact that the fellow posted the files publicly so you can modify them and go get them cut yourself.

I rather hope that someone else with the right skill set would see a way to make it into a universal iris lens mount and publicly post the files so that anyone could make one. I, alas, do not have the chops to do that yet.

Dear Vincent,
I don't mind or impede your desire or your hoping.

This project could also be a good candidate for 3-D printing. With some techniques and equipment it could be turned out fully assembled in one go.

Kick-Starter anyone?
