Hi ,

I am extremely happy to have one of my pictures selected for a gallery representation. However, since its a scan, I would need to have the same printed and framed and sent to the gallery for representation.
Could you guys please direct me to one the best places where I can upload my picture online to have the picture printed and framed .

Request your thoughts as you guys are much more experienced in this regard.

Regards,
Abhishek

There is a site called www.americanframe.com that can do digital printing, matting and framing. And check out www.bayphoto.com.

Also you can ask the gallery and they will probably be able to assist you in making arrangements for printing and framing.

Find someone local to you who is a professional printer and go and show him your image, and what you are trying to do with the print. Sit with him (or her) while they do it. Don't send an exhibition print out. You get back whatever the printer thought you wanted rather than what you wanted. When I print of others who are far away, I send them test prints, and I do a lot of research about your style, and who you are, before I begin...

Framing is an entirely separate matter. Most printers don't frame things. (I am sure there are some that do.) Framing can be quite expensive, especially the glass or acrylic. You need to find someone who will help you out, and give you a decent price. Walking in to a frame shop often leads to very high markups on things. Make a friend, offer them your long term business, etc.

Good luck,

Lenny

There is no "best" place but there are lots of excellent places. Where are you located?

The best place in the US is actually in Canada, at elevator digital where Bob Carnie (and co.) are quite possibly the best finishing house in the world today, and most definitely in North America.

They now have a service called "press and go" which is all online based, but is handled by the same master printers at the shop.
