Finally adjusting my f64 bag and am wondering what this strap is for. There's one of the other side of the bag as well.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say it's for strapping sticks to the side.

Some of the f.64 bags are system bags. Though it's hard to tell from your photo, it looks like you have a backpack there. The backpack has little straps on the side to attach f.64 film holder cases and maybe some other stuff too. I've used the film holder cases for 4x5 for years, but never tried the f.64 backpack.

This is the f64 BXP bag. I have the 4x5 cases attached where they should be but this looks more like a "lash" system. I can't imagine hanging my big-ass Reis off the bag, though. :) I'm not a backpacker so I don't know for sure but I imagine it's for something very practical. Guess if I can't figure it out I don't need it. Until the time comes when I'm out in the field and the lightbulb goes off. "D'oh! So that's what the lash is for!"

This is the f64 BXP bag.
I use two of the f.64 BPX (not BXP) backpacks, one for the 4x5 kit and one for the 8x10.

I don't understand your question. There are several straps in the photo.

While wearing these I don't recall ever having unidentified straps hanging down.
