I just purchased a 4x5 tachihara field camera and i seen a post somewhere but cant remeber which site it was on but it discussed having a 10inch kodak wide field ektar lens mounted on a lens board for that particular camera....

Is it possible even though the lens is a heavy one for the lightweight camera?

Not worthwhile. Too big, too heavy, and won't fit on a technika-style lensboard.

I agree. I use that lens for my Wisner 5 x 7 and 8 x 10s, and it just fits on the 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 lensboard.

It's not only in a big Ilex 5 shutter, but it has more image circle than you could ever use on a 4x5", so you could also expect bellows flare of a major order.

Hi Ted,

Take a look at the picture of the Tachihara camera that Fine Arts Photo Supply sells. The camera in the illustration has a huge shutter mounted on it, and that shutter is still smaller than an Ilex #5. www.fineartsphotosupply.com/workscamera.htm
