Yep, I did the unthinkable while replacing a broken GG - I didn't keep track of whether the fresnel was towards the lens or behind the GG. Also, and I'm not sure it matters (but it probably does), but what is the orientation for the smooth side of the fresnel? As long as you can supply me with the definitive answer, feel free to point out my idiocy. :o
