Can anyone recommend resources for learning tintypes etc? There are many examples of people shooting wet plates on this forum; where did everyone learn? Silver gelatin was easy to learn just by reading Kodak datasheets. Where do I get "pyroxylin"? What times do I use? Do I have to custom-make holders and everything? Most of all, are there resources that explain the process?

Go to:

http://www.johncoffer.com

Buy his manual with videos. This is the most comprehensive information when starting out, or as a reference when you've been shooting collodion for awhile.
