Say I photograph a laser shining on a piece of white paper. The laser is a 635nm red laser.

Now I want to adjust the color of the image in Photoshop to get as close as I can to that color. What color settings do I use?

I know we can't hit it scientifically, I googled and saw all those answers plus a lot of other stuff that sort of circled the issue. Given the limitations, what's the nearest I can get?

You can use the following program to convert visible light wavelength to RGB value. http://www.efg2.com/Lab/ScienceAndEngineering/Spectra.htm
At 645nm, the RGB value is 255 0 0, so you're already pretty close to pure red at 635nm. Looks like 635nm is equivalent to 255 57 0.

Thanks Barry--I'll give that a try and see how it looks. Very useful.
