I saw a Brett Weston exhibition in Paris in 1975. It was a life-changing event.

This sounds great. I would mention that there is a Brett Weston exhibit running in NYC right now. Over 100 prints and well worth seeing:

Cool, Thanks for posting this. I have to drive through there on my way to Chicago to teach my class at SAIC this summer.

I just saw an Exhibit of Ansel Adams (48 images) two weeks ago in South Bend. I was underwhelmed.

I guess there was know way it could have lived up to the build up and all the hype.

I know that feeling very well. After seeing our first exhibit of Brett's work in OKC in 2008, which took my breath away btw, I followed up by viewing Ansel's works at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa some months later. I was so disappointed I almost wished I had stayed home. I then realized afterward that it wasn't the photography that was lacking, but the facility in which it was being presented. The lighting and overall presentation ruined the entire experience for me. You felt as though the exhibition was being held in someone's basement under their house. So, having seen Brett's works previously in the OKC facility, and knowing they did a excellent job with that exhibition, I would expect them to present Ansel's work with just as much reverence. We shall see.

I can't wait to see this! Great museum. I would also highly recommend that you see the current Chuck Close exhibit. Amazing work.
