Tuco: Backlighting seems to work well with the crabpots. Maybe it reduces the busyness of the netting and all. If I was a crab I'd say they look a little ominous too.
Moved last month to the west side of Madison and found a creek next to the new neighborhood. I think it'll be a good resource for me. 500c/m, 60mm, Rollei i.r.

Thanks. I didn't have many options. The dock is narrow and the crab pots were on one side.

New turf is always good inspiration for finding photos and yours turned out well. I have some expired Rollei IR I should shoot up this summer.

Yes, he is head and shoulders above the competition for sure. He is also on the tip of his toes as if he's was doing a vertical hop.

I'm working with a local winery to create some images of their farm animals. The idea is images that look like the animal is peering at the viewer, with final product being prints greater than life-size. I shot a few rolls of film today working on trying to get the look I envisioned. Here's my first try with their llama.

Maybe you can try a Photo workshop like the North Dakota offerings with Tillman Crane?
https://www.tillmancrane.com/workshops/
20-25 locations with permission to be in and about each of them during the workshop.
An interesting note on them is that four of the past participants have printed Books of the images from the workshops. Some solid, hard cover books.
They are "shooting" workshops where you get time to work on locations. Not group clicks, but individual time during the week to visit and re-visit them. Night photo session as well. I know one year a big display of Northern Lights highlighted the night photo section and those who stayed up for it were richly rewarded with fine images.
Workshop or not, keep trying and you might find access granted one of these days.

Note: the rotating sieve design is still in use for many applications today, and is also referred to as a Trommel screen. Also, the position of the rotating sieve in this exhibit is for display - and not as it would be in actual operation.
That sieve is interesting looking. I want to shove my 8mm in there :).

All of these shots were hand held with the Hasselblad, so as you point out the camera was not squarely centered on the church and it was angled up. Clearly, the church should be shot with a view camera.

Hello,
I have been following this forum for years and admire your work. Some time ago I returned to the occasional black and white photography. The image below is taken with a Fuji GSW690 camera and cropped to a 3:1 aspect ratio. Fuji Neopan Acros 100 II developed unfortunately due to a temporary lack of other options at Rodinal.

Nice composition and tonality (development looks OK IMHO). I especially like the idea of the juxtaposition between the artefact (chair) and the natural (rock). Maybe I would have taken a few steps left to increase the space between these two elements --and decrease the empty space at the edges; just a personal feeling.

Yes there is an actual reason behind "chop and drop" - do a search for "large woody material stream restoration"
Here is an example article: 'Chop and drop' tree felling aims to improve stream ecosystems in Pennsylvania (https://www.bayjournal.com/news/wildlife_habitat/chop-and-drop-tree-felling-aims-to-improve-stream-ecosystems-in-pennsylvania/article_bbb95bae-fe4b-11ee-86ce-b73ce8e8f98e.html)

Austin: The last two from the Palouse are great. Have you been on every back road out there by now?
It's been a while since I found a good motorcycle to shoot. Here's a 1956 Panther M100. TriX w. yellow filter, 80mm lens, 5 battery flashes.

First 3 images from this year's Halloween series, all Rollei 6008 w/ 80mm and Ilford HP5+ or Delta 400 in Pyrocat. These are rudimentary negative scans, because I use Photoshop Elements just to get images onto the web, the real prints will be made in my darkroom. The first two look easy to print, but the last one looks like it will be tricky because despite the lens hood there is flare and low contrast on the negative.

Thanks John! This last trip to the Palouse was supposed to be the one where I explored every last road, but then it poured rain and they turned to hopeless mud. Even with semi-chunky tires on my Subaru, traction became non-existent. Maybe I'll have to visit in the summer sometime...
I always enjoy your engine pictures. It's hard to match the simple elegance of those big old singles. And that wing on the case, very cool!

Beautiful, evocative work, Patrick. My grandfather (a British officer) survived four years in the trenches during WW1. I wonder what he would think, 100+ years later.

Nice images. Pleasant tonality with what I perceive as lifted mid-tones. Was this done in post processing? If not, was the development compensating (please specify)?

Lovely
It is nice to see some German fortifications - we only get to see the Allied ones.
Both my father (WWII) and his father (WW1) as well as my wifes grandfather (WW1) fought.
I'm amazed any of them survived the madness.

Bernard,
Not a lot in post process,a bit of contrast. I do stand development with Rodinall. 1:100 for about 60min, and I see indeed more mid-tones in all my images with Ortho

These are gorgeous Austin. Wow.
Really fantastic pictures from all in the last page+. Been enjoying while on vacation.
Just got back from a short trip to Jekyll Island. I was tagging along with my wife who was attending a one-day conference. The famous tree that is on Jekyll's driftwood beach fell over a few months ago, but I think I found a worthy replacement:
