I purchased a Omega D2 enlarger with a variable condenser head
that was deal too good to pass up for my bourgeoning darkroom.
Lots of dust to blow out but I'd like to clean the heat sink/lamp housing
since there's lots of dust in there.

Two molded plastic caps hold the two halves of the cast aluminum
heat sink around the lamp dome, easy peasy to take off.
One 8-32 bolt holds the cap over the wiring and I assume also holds the
lamp socket in place....

But how the heck do you take the ceramic socket out ?

It looks like there's a collar that screws off the ceramic socket,
am I missing something or suddenly became a 98 Lb weaking ?

A can of spinach later .....

The socket doesn't have a screw off collar, the strain relief needs to be removed first.

Should I send you more enlargers?

I gave away 2 today, well actually one guy gave me a Minox GT. Not sure if I won...

Only if it's a 8x10 elwood ;)

Caveat .... beware the bolt that holds the ceramic socket to the top cap, it's acetal plastic, I just snapped it tightening.
