I put a small compact in various parts inside my 5x7 to check for light leaks and I believe one to be coming from the rear as I can faintly see the back of the lens at 15" f2.8 ISO 400.....what material is this and where do I get it?

I would use black felt on this.

I would use black felt on this.

Felt can be a dust trap. Instead, try black flock paper. I get mine in the USA at Hobby Lobby stores.

How about black gauze?

I keep a roll of this around, comes in handy, being polyester it seems to make little dust.

Are you referring to the gnarly looking fabric that's on the back ?

Looks like tight weave burlap to me, and none of my 2D's have that,
they're the wood that's painted black with either lacquer or shellac that's been tinted
pitch black. I've never found an answer to what the black interior parts are painted with
it could even be india ink since it does come off with alcohol.

Since the fabric is so gnarly, and not black, remove it, you may see that the light leak is gone .
