I'll be having a one person show at the "Little Gallery" at the DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, 6300 N Swan, Tucson. Show starts at noon on 11/17 and is open every day (except Thanksgiving) from 10AM to 4PM. I'll be showing a mix of Large Format and Medium Format photos spanning almost 45 years, as well as several computer generated images.

The building and grounds themselves are quite interesting and were built by Ted DeGrazia as his home and gallery when the area was still a wilderness. The DeGrazia Foundation selects eleven artists a year from a pool of around one hundred applicants and seldom hosts a photographer, so I feel quite fortunate to have been asked to exhibit.

If you're in the neighborhood, please stop by.

Try just going to www.degrazia.org and look for the exhibitions page. There's nothing there particularly specific to my show (except the dates) but it's interesting in its own right and has a couple of pics of the gallery itself. Strange building indeed

I'm beginning to feel like putting on this show is a full time job... Spent half the day today checking over the prints that have been framed so far inch by inch - found a couple of issues that looked like either a handling scratch or a spot where the print head had dragged on the paper and had been missed so had to reprint them... Should get the first batch of postcards from 4by6 tomorrow and just sent off the last three images... I think we'll wind up with around 2000 cards in total - 50 each of 40 images... Price difference between 20 each and 50 each is pretty small so went for the 50... Of course we had to buy a postcard display rack for them... A friend volunteered the use of the van as we have two prints that are 3 by 4 feet so something of a transportation nightmare... We'll put a couple of moving blankets down and layer them between the prints...Still have to buy the blankets... My wife has a master schedule of when which friend will be at the gallery - It has to be staffed 10 to 4 every day as a condition of getting the space... Just got the wine for the opening - we've been "auditioning" wines for a while now. Best part of the whole event I think... Just discovered that the glass in a print I had framed a while ago appears to be a different color than the new glass - print has to be re-glazed to match up to the prints that will be around it. Of course the frame shop doesn't have any more and will have to order it tomorrow... "No problem" they say...Have to get a couple of speakers for the music... Haven't picked the music itself yet...Turns out there's no wi-fi in the gallery so had to get a "hotspot" from Verizon so my credit card reader can work...Still have to make up the show catalog...no end in sight...Have to organize a training session for my friends on how to use theSquare reader...And the fun goes on!
