I just received a security bulletin from a private security firm that I follow.

It included the following statement regarding the source file leaks at Adobe, which have been previously reported.

"It also appears that the already massive source code leak at Adobe is broadening to include the company's Photoshop family of graphical design products."

-----

The security issue here is that malicious entities can add malware to the source code then compile it, and it will look and behave exactly like the real product. You'll never know the baddies are in your computer, potentially monitoring everything you do on it, not just with Photoshop.

Henceforth only get new copies of Photoshop from authorized vendors. DO NOT download from other sites.

Also, DO NOT respond to any emails that tell you that an upgrade is available, and "click here" to get it.
Only download upgrades directly from the Adobe site.

No, I'm not a shill for Adobe. I have a version of PS that's several years old, and I never use it.
