Does anyone know what the conversion of a Linhof Kardan M into a Kardan GT45 entails? Thanks!

Buying the GT rail anmd front and rear standards. You then use the M bellows on the GT as well as the back and lensbaords.

It would cost less to buy a GT and have 2 complete cameras.

All you gain with the GT is base tilt as the M offers only on axis tilt. The price you pay for this is much much more bulk.

In my opinion this makes only sense for studio use.

and you get a telescopic rail what is a nice feature indeed

"All you gain with the GT is base tilt as the M offers only on axis tilt."

But since those base tilts are located beneath the swing points the camera becomes yaw free. It is still an axis tilt camera for movements though.

The telescoping rail can simply be added to the M if you don't mind the extra weight of the rail.
