Need help on this:
The radius of the base/clamp of my Sinar F is about the same as the 'radius' of the manfrotto QR plate. (see pictures). So I can't mount the QR plate very solid to the Sinar. What am I doing/is wrong here??

(it looks like the manfrotto overlaps the outer ring of the Sinar quit good, but that is only half a milimeter, and not a solid connection)

Aluminum plate between head & camera.
You may need a longer screw, 3/8-16 flathead, common in hardware stores

Sinar intended that camera to be used with a tripod head they made. They are nice but fairly rare and not too cheap. John's solution is most simple and cost effective.

Thanks all, I will drill/cut a sheet of metal to place in between and search for a longer screw

I recently picked up an F myself, I got a 3/8 hex plate and fits nicely.
