removing scotch pma from a print?

the problem-a dime sized patch of the adhesive on the surface

I've never had this happen before. Anyone had sucess with removing this stuff from fuji paper?

update: I tried 91% isopropyl alcohol on a scrap print and it took the adhesive off w/o leaving any visible sign of it. Is that okay for the print, long term?

I generally use PEC film cleaner, but alcohol is fine unless it's been excessively watered down, which is often the situation with cheap hardware or paint store alcohol.

I have used acetone in situations like this in the past. It evaporates very quickly and leaves no residue.

One has to be more careful using acetone. If it spills on anything you're going to have problems. And you need to wear nitrile rather than latex gloves.

Is that okay for the print, long term?

The water in the isopropyl alcohol will swell the emulsion, making it vulnerable to scratching and scrapes. It might be better to find a solvent that works on your substance that doesn't contain water to swell the emulsion.

But if you don't damage the emulsion, it will likely be OK when it re-hardens.
