Apologies if this has already been posted. But Adoroma and B&H got a shipment of 4x5 instant color film. Thought I'd share.

That's awesome, I thought it was discontinued permanently. Thanks.

I'm under the impression that this is some stock that Fuji still had that they decided to drop into the US market. It's likely that this is the last of the last, but I'd be very happy to be wrong on that. :D

As of the writing of this post http://www.fotocare.com/FUJIFILM_FP_100C_4X5_FILM_p/62440-a.htm also has 80 boxes.

With that news I am finally going to shoot my Fuji FP100C45 expired 2012 single box.

I do shoot the far cheaper smaller size often.

I really prefer the B&W.

Ordered myself some, thanks to the OP for the heads up. Too bad there's no B&W 45 available :(

agreed, thanks for the heads-up. B&H has about 750 boxes in stock. I ordered 15 or so, tempted to gorge on more.

B&H down to 547 boxes now (that was fast)

I think B&H will be sold out by tomorrow.

Fuji may keep on making that film once it sees how fast the USA supply sells out

We can only hope, and maybe at a more mass-market price.

Couple of months ago I stocked up on about 40 boxes of the 3x4 instant. If the 4x5 stuff was $15-$20 a box I'd probably completely switch to it, but at almost $4 per shot, no thanks, I don't need that extra 20% of rebate (ideally the 4x5 stuff is nice because there's no crop to watch out for on your GG). What did it sell for before being "discontinued?"

Yeah right. That'll happen the same day they update their website to make it clear what sheet films are ACTUALLY discontinued worldwide.

Tin Can

It was about the same price when it was last stocked at B&H, that's why I didn't buy it, not worth the 4 times price for 20% more area.

I saw and purchased the film for $50 to $55 a pack from the usual big dealers just before they sold out

I recall paying about $30 per box from B&H a couple of years ago.

When I still had my 4x5 back I was happy to pay the 24.95 for it over the $8.99 for the smaller size. But I got out of it once I heard it was discontinued.

When I hear a photography product is discontinued, I don't stock up...I look for an acceptable alternative immediately.

Let's hope New55 is a real thing, and that it'll actually be coming down the pike soon.

I really liked the FP100B B&W. It was fantastic stuff. I still have three packs, but when it's gone… it's gone. :( I still shoot some of the 3000 B&W, but it just isn't the same.

The New55 is projected to cost $6 a shot. $40 a pack is a bargain by comparison, but I hope it's the real thing too.

Correct, just got mine too. AFAIK they still make it for the japan market, just not here, that's why on ebay you can buy fresh new packs from japan that have the japanese writing on it instead of english).

I really want to buy a few boxes of this, but I don't have a Polaroid 550 back. I don't want to spend the money on a piece of equipment I might never be able to use again. If I knew for sure New55 would become a real product I would definitely go for it.

Well unfortunately the Polaroid 550/Fuji PA 45 backs are not the same backs that the New55 product would use. That would be a Fuji Quickload, Kodak Readyload, or Polaroid 545 backs.

It was $34.95 from B&H before it was discontinued, so $36.95 is not bad, and far cheaper than it has been on ebay for the last year or so. Of course it will go back up again after this batch sells out, probably.

B&H @ 439 boxes at the moment. Mine arrived today but I haven't opened it yet.

I wouldn't hold my breath on New55. The way it's going that will never get off the ground.

Everyone already probably sold their backs... haha

And many probably still don't know.

And those that actually still used them as a check have found another system and don't need them any longer.

I use them for "artistic" reasons rather than as a check so I can use them, but the price is high so I only got a few, I'm sure many have even resigned to the smaller packs and now gotten used to that price and think, why bother going back up and then having to go back down when they run out AGAIN. haha.

I use the little Fujiroid primarily on a Horseman VHR and it produces a 65 X 82 mm image which is fine for me.

A 405 back on 4x5 gives me 73 x 94 mm which is not a huge difference.

I haven't measured the actual coverage of 4x5 Fujiroid.

Asshat B&H and Adorama both jacked the price from 36.95 a few days ago to 39.99 now. Thanks, profiteering scumbags! It's especially egregious on something they probably bought at closeout wholesale prices from Fuji to begin with.

There's also people already scalping this stuff on ebay @ $50/box for those who don't know it's back again at (inflated) retail pricing for a short time.

16x14 or 20mm difference
polaroid 550-window is 9.2 x12.5 cm. 4x5/51 film image: 8.9 x 11.4cm-59(8.9x11.8cm)
4x5=10.16 x12.7 versus 9x12/i am referring to the two standard holders 9x12 and 4x5(10.16 x 12.7cm)--shipping costs to europe are high.

Actually it was $36.95 when I bought 3 packs last week with free shipping. Either they mispriced it when they put it up originally or the demand is a lot stronger than they expected and they're trying to figure out what the market will bear.

Well my order was just delivered from Adorama and I've gotta say I'm less than pleased. They shipped the boxes of instant film in an over sized envelope and they've been crushed. I would have thought they would ship it in a box. Maybe I should have paid the extra $3 a box and gone with B&H instead.

It looks like the info in an article from April has come true. http://www.thephoblographer.com/2013/04/22/a-limited-supply-of-the-discontinued-fujifilm-4x5-fp100c-instant-film-will-be-hitting-america-soon/

We received a tip last week from within the photography retail world that told us that there is some extremely good news for fim photography fans. When mid-May comes, a small batch of FP-100C in 4×5 format will be hitting photography retailers in the US: particularly Adorama, B&H Photo, Foto Care, and Urban Outfitters.

We pressed our sources to see if the film will be resurrected from the dead. They assured us it won’t. The film isn’t expired either as it will date to July 2014

Could just be remaining stock. The web page for the peel-apart films on the Fuji Japan website has this wording in red...

FP-100C45は、生産終了いたしました。

...which means, "production of FP-100C45 has been discontinued".

There are lots of them for sale on ebay from japanese sellers with 2016 dates. most run about $65.00 a box! Makes New55 projected selling price look good.

um, not so much (re: vs New55). new55 is at least a year away, and who knows how good it will be. fp100c is/was better than anything polaroid ever produced of the same vein. It will be great when/if new55 resurrects something like old 55, but I am not holding my breath on that. $65/box is a bit rich, but if it really is new production...? I think $36/box is fair, that is what B&H had it for the last time around.

I miss FP-100C45 as well. It's great for making exposure adjustments for shooting velvia 100. It's my wife's favorite film (she likes instant results).I've seen it advertised on Japanese websites as well. If I ever make it back over to Japan I'm going to have to stock up. I've seen Acros in 8x10 on the same sites.
