Can any one tell what Emery (Emory) Simmons is holding - 2nd from left, back row? He is a famous mycologist and a historian is trying to find out about the camera.

That's a Speed Graphic, probably Anniversary, most likely military issue.

US military movie cameras were mostly Bell & Howell, while the still cameras were Speed Graphics and Kodak Medalists.

Although Bill is correct (in general), one of those cams looks like Kodak Cine 100 (16mm).

I agree with Ian, very close to one I used in the US Navy in 1957 and 58.
