You could try KHB in Toronto, but they will charge you for it.
I mention it only as a last resort.

Could anyone tell me what kind of lamps you use with this enlarger: 4x300w? Correct?
And i need a timer to work with this 5108. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Yup. 4x300w. ELH in mine.

I use a RH Fstop clock. Best in my opinion.

How do you connect it? The 5108 came with the devere 240v control, at the back there are all kinds of connector outlets and i'm a bit puzzled where goes what? Thanks for helping out.

Second Hand Darkroom sells a power cable to connect the power supply to one of the RH Designs f stop timers. It's about $70. I've put one on a 5108 and it works great. All power comes from the power supply, none from the wall. There is a funny connector that plugs into the back of the supply and then into the timer.

Do not try plugging your f stop timer into the 5108 any other way, I was told that the best case is a blown fuse, worst case a blown timer.

I would love a copy of that manual too, please. Also does anyone know the best way to transport a 5108? Does it disassemble easily?

PM me with your Email, the head comes off (make sure you lock it down first), the table comes off and the column comes off at the table. There's an entire detailed thread on transporting a 5108 on this forum. Post photos once you get it!

If you're buying one, make sure it has the negative carrier, they are really hard to find separately.

Ideally yes, but I did find an extra one at the UK auction. Piece of cake to get in a Honda Odyssey!

Check the following threads:

https://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?87562-Devere-504-Disassembly&highlight=devere

and

https://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?122025-Picking-up-a-De-Vere-5108&p=1243459#post1243459

These threads will tell you more about assembly and disassembly and how to pick one up than the manual.

Manuals are available from KHB Photographix in Canada or possibly Second Hand Darkroom in the UK. L

Yes thanks a lot, that is very helpful, especially your new advice where to lock down the head carrier! I didn't understood it first. But now i think i get it dissembled and home to me. :-)

Does anyone still have a copy of the manual in pdf format? I'm trying to figure out how the weird timer connector can be adapted to a normal timer

Hello! I was given a De Vere 5108 a bit ago and I'm dying to use it. The head was detached and never acquired the hardware to mount it. Its been sitting in my darkroom for months... Does anyone have a copy of the manual? Also, need the bolts that held the head...Going to call Odyssey and see if they got what I need. Would love to get this thing up and running asap!

Currently printing RA-4 on a Besler 45s dichro and looking over my shoulder at the De Vere like... What am I doing!

The post right before yours has a link to the manual. Do you have the manual Dichroic head or the closed loop head? There's a spring latch on the back that attaches the head to the frame. L
