I have collecting old contact printing frames whenever they are at a reasonable price level. I have seen lots of designs, but nothing even remotely like this one. From France.
It is double sided with glass windows on both sides.
One side, which also has ingeneous clamping devices, has the window size 10x12cm. The plain side has the (stereo?) dimension 10x17cm.
The glass on both sides is 1/4" thick.
Is this just a dual purpose contact print frame? Or a contact printer for a process I know nothing about?
Clamped in position was a super thin zinc (?) sheet where an square area had been cut out - a clue, perhaps?

Could it be a negative carrier for an enlarger? The dual glass suggests projection of some sort.
