Does anyone use a Slik 88-N for 8x10? I have an Eastman No.2 and the Slik 88N look really sturdy but I can't find any specifications that give it's max load.

I have an old Slik 88N (early 80s) and although I don't know what it's specs are, I don't use it for supporting an 8x10 camera. There is way too much flexibility in the head to provide a rigid support and the pan head tends to drop forward or backward under the weight of the camera no matter how hard you try to tighten the hand grip. And I use one of the lightest 8x10s out there...
You will need something more substantial.
