8x10 Copy Camera - What The HELL did I just buy?

I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I'm thinking enlarger? Bigger camera? Something else?

I don't really need a copy-camera, but it's too cool to just pass up...

Mount it on a half track and use it for 8x10 landscape photography - all terrain!

It looks like an excellent candidate for conversion to an 8x10 enlarger. The main thing you need is a light source, look up the LED and fluorescent panel lights used for photo studio lighting. If you want to get fancy make the flat easel into a vacuum easel, not that hard to do.

I vote for the 8x10 enlarger. I've got a much less elaborate version of the same thing that I've been planning to convert for a couple of years, I'm just waiting an getting enough space to make room for it and all the other gear. It looks like yours would be much more stable and make one hell of a good enlarging system. You might want to do research on the Saltzman 8x10 horizontal enlargers for some ideas on how this might convert.

Even, I'm not certain that I'm right, but the few photos I've seen of Ansel's darkroom made me think that he used an 8x10 studio camera such as an Ansco or Century to make his enlarger. Did he also have one made from one of these copy cameras? If so, do you have access to any information or images of that, as I have plans for one of those in my future as well

Get two of them, and you'll have a decent bed frame. Or if you're single, the one will do just fine. Nobody else will ever be surrounded by photography like that.

That looks bigger than 8x10. It looks more like an 11x14. If so, the camera portion looks like it would collapse nicely small (length wise) which can be mounted to make an 11x14 studio camera or a "tailboard" folding camera.
