I bought a Beseler 45MXII today. How can I tell if capable of accepting a turret? I looked at photos of them online and I can't see how one would fit.
Thanks,
Terry

45 MXII accepts a turret. Ther way you can tell is if your 45 series Beseler has a straight bellows as opposed to a tapered bellows you can use a turret.

Note that there is a restriction on the depth behind the mounting face for any lens(es) mounted on the turret.
That dimension cannot exceed 13mm.

If it does, either an adapter is required or the lens must be mounted on a separate lensboard, not on the turret.

The manual lists three specific lenses that violate this requirement:
Rodenstock Rodagon-WA 120mm
Schneider Apo-Componon HM 150mm
Fuji Fujinon EX 135mm

Other non-compliant lenses may have been introduced after this MXT manual was printed
The manual appears to be dated January 1990.

You can download the 45MXT manual here: http://www.atwaterkent.info/Images/beseler_45mxt.pdf

Thanks everyone. I guess since I have a tapered lower bellows I can't attach a turret. After looking at the manual suggested above I looked again at the one that came with the enlarger and there is no mention of a turret.

My goal when buying this one was to convert it to 8X10. Does anyone know if the Besleler conversion changes the lower bellows?

Thanks again!

Hi Terry,

If you mange to get your lower bellows sorted out I'll trade you my 3-lens turret for your single lensboard assembly.
