Huh? What's an FJ? You out shooting the weather on Tuesday? Do you have extra film? Do you mean honk your horn?

:)

FJ = Land Cruiser?

FJ = Land Cruiser?

I'm guessing that "FJ" is referring to an FJ cruiser, from Toyota

geee, didn't mean to make it a guess, but yep, that's it... the "highway yellow" version. I head out about 3am/ plan to make big zigzags from Modessa (midland-odessa to you non-oilers) up to Texline... back home on Friday.

Will be shooting the clouds, without need of the cloud...

I'd be shocked to find good coffee in Marfa, but maybe things have changed.

My son offered to sell me his Land Cruiser FJ62, a 1988 model. It's what I need to carry my big camera stuff and go way off the beaten tracks.

I've been much around your travel area. Have a good trip and bring back stories to tell and maybe even a picture or two.

I know exactly where Turkey Tx. is. I used to go out there alot. Now, go find Old Dime Box, Tx. I used to live at the intersection of Cele Rd., Haman Rd., and Manor Rd. in Manor(used to be Cele) Tx. across from the Cele Saloon.

Definitely, you should consider keeping it in the family. I bought a totally recycled 2000 LC (aka, "Elsie") 8 years ago and haven't look back. It's spacious enough for all my gear, and long enough for a 6+ footer (i.e., me) to sleep unpretzled. I was even able to move an entire show of more than 50 framed photographs, several of which were 3'x4', from place to place, with rear seats removed. LC's are the undisputed 3rd World assault vehicle of choice, kind of like a Land Rover that actually runs.

The FJ is a Gen-X rehash meant to "replace" earlier FJ's. It came out at the same time in the mid 2000's when Toyota revamped their entire consumer SUV line (Sequoia, Highlander, 4-Runner). Consumer Reports has always rated it very low for its intended uses, despite typical Toyota quality.

just down the road from the Waits Farm ...

I moved to TX 3 years ago.... The first year, we stayed in more than 100 towns, at least overnight. Put in more than 12,000 miles between towns. That was year one. Year 2 was about the same. Year three we've slowed down, but, my 'maps' plot more than runs over.

hmm, think its time for an oil change...

back up to Pampa this weekend.
